Study on Anatomy for the Hedgehog Erinaceus europaeus Ⅰ Integument

? The integument samples from the 28 adult hedgehogs ( Erinaceus europaeus )(♀16,♂12) were studied by the method of anatomy. There are rich and thick subcutaneous fat and developed integumental muscle in the hedgehog in teguments. The weight of the integument of the hedgehog is about 38.02% of the body weight for male and 44.29% for female respectively. The weight of the subcutaneous fat is 6.88% of the body weight for male and 12.04% for female, respectively. There are significant differences for the weight of the integument and subcutaneous fat between males and females ( P <0 05 or 0.01), there are no significant differences for the weight of the integumental muscle and spiny hair between males and females. Except the face, the four limbs and the abdomen, there are full of the thick and stiff spiny hairs on the skin of the hedgehog. The length of the spiny hair is 16.36±1.30mm, and its diameter is 0.95±0.15mm, its weight is 3 55±0 43mg. There are 5434±475 spiny hairs in the skin of the hedgehog. According to the colour, the spiny hairs are divided into five types which are distributed in different ration in each hedgeog. There are five pairs of mammary glands in the hedgehog. There are five toes on each foot, there is a claw at the end of each toe. The peculiar structure of the hedgehog integument is very useful for hedgehog's physiological protection.

? The nephrotic syndromed rat caused by the level of adriamycin is a good animal model and similar to the symptom of human minimal change in nephropathy. Here we report a new method causing experimental nephrotoxicity in rats by twice intravenous injection of adriamycin. Proteinuria appeared in one week after treatment. By the end of 5th. Week, proteinuria had reached the level of(512±98.9) mg/24h, and the plasma protein concentration was reduced significantly. Widespread fusion of foot processes could be found in rat glomerulus by electron microscopy. The ALB mRNA was detected by Northern and Dot blot. Albumin gene transcription was enhanced in liver of nephrotic rats and about as twice as that of the control one.

? The aim of our study was to establish an animal model of congestive heart failure with Qixu Xueyu syndrome in rabbits. 20 rabbits were divided into a model group and a contral group, and norepinephire were given to rabbits at a dosage of 1mg/kg in the model group. The results suggested that marked myocardial injuries were found in animal of the model group. The ASP\, ADP\, LVSP and ±dp/dtmax in model group were decreased, while the LVEDP was increased. The symptoms of Qixu Xueyu syndrome also existed. Thus, the animal model was succesfully established.

? To develop a reproducible model in vivo for the growth of human meningiomas, meningiomas from 5 patients were implanted into the subrenal capsule or subcutis of the nude mouse. Successful tumor growth was observed in 11 of the 12 nude mice implanted tumor into subrenal capsule (91.7%). Tumor doubling occured in 4 to 10 weeks in all of implanted tumor, neovascularity was present and increased as the tumors grew larger. Each of the implanted tumor had a histological pattern similar to that of the corresponding original specimen. Contrary to these, tumor growth was observed only in 1 of 6 nude mice implanted tumor subcutaneously (16.7%). Statistical tests showed significant difference between two different implanting methods (P<0.01). It means that implanting human meningiomas into subrenal capsule of nude mouse is a perfect way to develop a model. It is also a basic research for studying the modification of hormone and synthetic therapy with human meningiomas.

? Three hybirdoma cell lines secreting monoclonal antibodies were raised by fusing of Sp2/0 cells with spleen cells of BALA/c mice immunized with the antigens of Toxoplasmosis. The titer of McAbs in culture supernatant and AF were 1∶16～256 and 10 -6 ～10 -7 seperately by ELISA,all of McAb were IgM class.The cell lines were preserved in liquid nitrogen for 12 months without any loss in immune reactivity.

? The high serum levels of thyroid hormones in rats were induced by oral administration of thyroid tablets (average dose for each rat:4 mg/d ×6d). The activities of β\|acceptor in myocardium and plasma catecholamine were measured. The results showed that the activity of β\|acceptor was 69±13 fmol/mgpro, at the end of the administration and was lower than that in control group(94±22 fmol/mgpro),the activity of plasma catecholamine(NE:530±73 pg/ml, E:132±62pg/ml) was higher than those in control one(NE:318±117 pg/ml,E:98±36 pg/ml). These results indicate that the changes of β\|acceptor and catecholamine play an important role in the development of themyocardium damnification under high serum levels of thyroid hormones.

? To study the relative bio-availability of Paolifen iron and its effect on blood iron recovery in iron deficiency anemia(IDA)rats, the model of IDA was developed by feeding low iron and bleeding for 20 days in Wistar rats.IDA rats were divided into two groups fed with FeSO\-4 24(μg/g) and Paolifen iron 24(μg/g) respectively.The contents of Hb,blood iron,RBC and organ coefficiency were determined in the various periods of the experiment.Bio availability of Paolifen iron was calculated.The relative bio-availability rate of Paolifen iron was 108.5%.The content of blood iron in Paolifen group was higher than that of the control one, the FeSO\-4 group( P <0 05),and that of feeding Paolifen iron before( P <0 01).The contents of Hb and RBC increased obviously after feeding Paolifen iron in IDA rats.Paolifen iron is absorbed well,thus it can be applied in the therapy of IDA.

? The reason of mass death in a group of mice was detected by blood germiculture from hearts,a series of biochemistry identification,antibiotic susceptibility test,and toxicity test.Results showed that the reason of the murine death resulted from bacterimia with Bacillus proteus vulgaris.It suggested that Bacillus proteus was an opportunistic bacteria,widespread existing in nature,but under special conditions it might cause the mice dead by bacterimia.

? In this experiment,the blood was obtained from the mice after shone with the red lightto the whole body for 20 days.The anadem rateofcomplement3b receptor ofred cells(RBC- C3bR)andthatthe rateofim mune comple ment(RBC- IC)ofred cells were determined ,and thelymphocyte transforming(LT)rate was also determined.The results showed thatthe anadem rate of RBC- C3bRof control group was apparently higher than that ofthe contrast group(p < 0-01) ,and LT wassharply increased .Thisindicated thatthered lightcouldincreasetheim munefunction ofthe red cellsand the Tcells.
