About Journal

•   Laboratory Animal Science was founded in 1984. It was previously titled Beijing Laboratory Animal Science, Beijing Laboratory Animal Science and Management, and Laboratory Animal Science and Management. Since 1988, it has been jointly sponsored by the Beijing Society for Laboratory Animal Science, Beijing Laboratory Animal Research Center and Beijing Laboratory Animal Administration Office.
  To expand its influence and adapt to the new market economy situation, the journal has been co-run since 1994 by laboratory animal administrative and scientific research departments in Hubei, Hunan, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Hebei, Tianjin and other regions, as well as universities and research institutions including Capital Medical University, China Agricultural University, the former National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products, the Academy of Military Medical Sciences and Chinese PLA General Hospital.
    Approved by the State Science and Technology Commission and Beijing Press and Publication Bureau, Laboratory Animal Science and Management began public distribution in 1991 (Domestic Serial No.: CN 11-5508/N; ISSN: 1006-6179; Postage Code: 18-131), and obtained the advertising business license in 1994. It was renamed Laboratory Animal Science in 2007, and switched from a quarterly to a bimonthly journal.
  The journal was included in Chinese Academic Journal (CD-ROM Edition) in 1998 and China Journal Net in 1999. Afterwards, it was indexed by numerous databases such as Full-text CD and Database Source Journals of Chinese Academic Journals, Chinese Medical & Health Science Literature Catalogue, China Laboratory Animal Information Network Database, Wanfang Data Digital Journals, Chinese Core Journal Database, Chinese Biological Literature Database and Chinese Biological Abstracts. In 2005, it was selected as a Chinese Scientific and Technological Core Journal by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China.
    Targeting researchers, administrators and technical practitioners engaged in laboratory animal science and related fields, the journal covers columns including Research Reports, Facility Management, Reviews & Progress, Technical Methods and 3R Special Columns. It has timely publicized relevant laws and regulations on laboratory animal administration in Beijing, and compiled and published 11 special issues such as General Principles for Selection of Optimal Laboratory Animal Models in Medical and Health Experimental Research and Proceedings of the 6th International Symposium on Immunodeficient Animals.
