The viscera samples from 28 adult hedgehogs( Erinaceus europaeus) (♀16,♂12)were studied by the method of anatomy. The oral cavity of the hedgehog is large and the corner of the mouth is long. The quarrel is big and agile. There are insectivorous teeth, single cell stomach, single papiller kidney, uterus bicornis, five pairs of mammary glands in the hedgehog. There is no caecum and scrotum. Apart from the thickness of the intestinal wall, there is no distinct differentiation between the large and the small intestines. The length of intestines is about 5～6 times as long as that of its body. The liver is divided into seven lobes, the lung into four lobes. The weight of the liver, spleen, kidney, pancreas, heart and lung of the hedgehog is about 4 12～5 23%, 0 29～0 51%, 0 42～0 53%, 0 45～0 65%, 0 36～0 51% and 0 42～0 60% of the body weight, respectively. The weight of the blood and the brown adipose tissue is about 7 7～8 2% and 0.75～0.87% of the body weight.respectively.The brain is a little small, There is no gyre in the face of the brain. Apart from the weight of the reproductive organ, there is no distinct difference in other organs between the males and females. The character of the viscera in hedgehog has something to do with the evolutionary level of the hedgehog and its habits and characteristics.

The techniques of in vitro fertilizaton and oviduct embryo transfer in mice were used to C\-\{57\}BL/6J and BDF\-1 mice. These techniques were also applied to the TW wild mice being inbred. The results of superovulation of female mice, fertilization of eggs and the quality of sperm taken from the epididymis of the males were observed and compared with those other international works. The differences of mechanism of in vitro fertilization between laboratory mice and wild ones were also discussed.

The Effect of Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor Improving Burn Healing in Rabbits

To observe the effect and dose effect relationship of recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rh\|EGF) on burn wound healing in rabbits, 15 rabbits were randomly divided into 5 groups, which were 3 different concentrations of rh\|EGF, rh\|EGF matrix and blank control respectively. 6 wounds of two degree burn wound were prepared on the back of each rabbit. The healing effect was assessed by measuring burn area and histology. All the burn areas were reducing with time duration, high dose rh\|EGF had the best effect, the wound re\|epidermidalization and growth granulation actively. It suggested that rh\|EGF could accelerate wound healing and exhibit a certain dose\|effect relationship, the high dose rh\|EGF (50μg/g)has the better effect.

Objective: To explore the effect of low dietary calcium intake during pregnancy on the breeding capacity of rats.Methods: 24 pregnant rats of Wister strain(6 month old,280～300g each)were randomly divided into 3 groups of 8 for each. During pregnancy period,the control group was fed with 0.8% Calcium,the experimental group A and group B were given a 0.03% Calcium diet(Ca deficient)and distilled water.At the beginning and at the end of the experiment,serum Ca,P and AKP of rats in each group were measured,respectively.The data including the breeding rate of each group were statistically processed.Results: The breeding rate of the experimental group A and group B was 6/16 and the breeding rate of the control group was 7/8( P <0 025).Serum Ca from rats in the experimental group A and group B was lower than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant( P <0 01).Conclusion: This experimental study suggested that low dietary Calcium intake during pregnancy had adverse effect on the breeding capacity of rats.

The aim of the experiment was to study the appreant intestinal absorption and ture intestinal absorption for calcium by laboratory beagal dogs in different dietary levels of calcium(0 5%～1 4%).The results revealed that the calcium absorption efficiency decreased and the quantity of calcium absorption preserved invariable when dietary calcium level increased from 0 8% to 1 4%;inversely,the efficiency of calcium absorption maintained stable and the quantity of calcium absorption decreased when dietary calcium decreased from 0 8% to 0 5%.Intestinal absorption for calcium was not influenced when the ratio of Ca:P was in 0 6～1 4∶1. There were no significant differences in body weight gain,serum calcium level and serum AKP content among groups when the dietary calcium level was in 0 8%～1 4%.

Xiao Yu Zhi Tong Ointment, a chinese herbs compound for stasis dissolution and pain relief, has remarkable antiinflammation effect on treating acute soft tissue injury in clinical practice for a long\|term. In this article, the antiinflammation effect was studied by ear\|swelling test, capillary permeability test and rat food\|pad edema test. The results showed that this ointment has the remarkable action of anti\|inflammation and detumescence.

Furher Study on the Mouse Diet Without Fish Tankage

Mice were fed with the complete ration, which was formed by adding trace elements, vitamins and restricted amino acids to their diet without fish tankage, and their growth, development and reproduction performance were increased. The result suggested that the compound additives can improve the quality of mouse diet withoutfish tankage. This formula of complete feed is effective in application of mice reproduction.
