n order to investigate the pathogenesis of adriamycin-induced nephropathy(AN), endogeneous glomerular antioxidant enzymes(AOE) in AN rats and their relation to glomerular injury were studied. It was demonstrated that glomerular AOE activities are signficantly suppressed and the level of glomerular lipid peroxidation is significantly higher in AN rats than in normal group(P<001). Our data suggest that one of the mechanisms of AN may be channeled through the increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and/or inactivation of endogeneous AOE.

model of candidiasis was developed in this paper. The candida albicans were injected into wistar rats via a lateral tail vein. The changes of hematological and biochemical characteristics of rats with experimental candidiasis were systematically observed. The results suggested that Candida albicans can cause some damage of heart, liver, lung and kidney of wistar rats. The Candida albicans in the blood can be cleared 99% within 2 hours .The survival rate of each experimental group was also observed.

or setting up rabbit model of hypertensive arterosclerosis methods:making hypertensive animal model with the operation of narrowing bilateral renalartery, measuring the blood pressure regularly, dynamically observing the fundus arteriosclerosis changes under optical and electronic microscope. The blood pressure of the rabbits in the hypertensive group was raised up obviously in comparing with that in normal group. In this group, the observation under optical microscope showed vitreous degeneration of retina central arteriors and that under electronic microscope showed vacuolization of endothelial cell.

n animal model of poor and susceptible constitution was established. It was caused by congenital deficiency and postnatal malnutrition during foetus and suckling in rabbits. Otherwise low temperature of the body, light coat color, loose skin, light weight poor cold-resistant, and white tongue appeared in rabbits. The histological results showed pathological change of the breast gland and spleen and a functional decrease of body fluid immunity and cell immunity. The rabbits were susceptible in bacterial infection test. There were some symptims in cold-resistanttest. These results accord with the clinical traits.

he pika, whistle rabbit. is an old-fashioned rabbit whichhad survived the Age of Ice,and lives in cold zone and high mountains.In our present study,thermal salivation of the pika was examined to compare with that of rats,in which thermal salivation is one of the major heat load responses.Initail rectal temperature of pikas (n=9) was 39.58℃ in average at 26℃ of ambient temperature,and was significantly higher than that of rats(n=8).Mean perspiration rate of pikas and rats are almost same at 26℃.Mean duration of heating at 40℃ was 1222 min in pikas and 26 min in rats.Mean data increase in rectal temperature after 40℃ heat heat load.However,it was about 2℃ in both animals. After 40℃ heat load for each duration, 3 times and 65 times of increase in perspiration rate during heating and the skin werewet after the heat load. In pikas, however,saliva spreading behavior was seldomly observed during heating.

ome biochemical indicies of domesticated Plateau Pika (Ochofona curzoniae) were revealed and compared with those of rabbits, rats and human beings. The percentage of serum albumin of the plateau pika has less serum cholesterol concentration. The indicies provided the evidence for scientists to select laboratory animal in experiment.

This paper discussed the experiment. on Qufengzhenton Gao in acute toxicity, stimulation and allergy on the animal skins. The results showed that Qufengzhenton Gao had no toxicity and stimulation, but it had a little allergenic effect.

The severe combined immuno deficiency(scid) or beige mutation was backcrossed onto the C57BL/6J strain background in order to study the role of natural killer cells in rejection of normal and malignant human lymphohe matopoietic cells.C57BL/6J-scid/scid mice showed severe loss of mature T and B cells accompanied by increased percentages of NK11 cells. Although little or no serum immunoglobulin by 75 months of age. C57BL/6J-scid/scid mice had markedly elevated levels of both hemolytic complement activity and NK cell activity compared with C57BL/6J+/+control.

virus antibodies in 60 rhesus monkey sera were detected with enzyme immunoassay(EIA) and dot immunobinding Assay (DIA dot). In EIA, HSV-1 used as an antigen and in DIA dot, B virus used as an antigen. The results showed that the positive rate in EIA is 5%, and in DIA dot is 10%. The agreement rate in bothmethods is 95%. The authors suggest that the results have some reference values for rhesus monkey production and export.
