  # The First Session of the 7th Editorial Board Meeting of *Laboratory Animal Science* Held
  On the afternoon of April 7, the first session of the 7th Editorial Board Meeting of *Laboratory Animal Science* was held at the International Conference Center of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. A total of 32 editorial board members including He Zhengming, Li Genping and Lu Shengming from Beijing and other provinces and municipalities attended the meeting.
  
  Researcher Rong Ruizhang, Editor-in-Chief of the 6th Editorial Board, delivered an opening speech and expressed gratitude to all members for their consistent efforts. The meeting summarized the manuscript submission status during the tenure of the 6th Editorial Board, released the list of outstanding contributors, and presented awards to the award-winning representatives. Meanwhile, the official establishment of the 7th Editorial Board of *Laboratory Animal Science* was announced. Hu Jianwu, Director of the Editorial Department, reported the current publishing progress and analyzed the overall quality status of the journal.
  
  In his speech, Editor-in-Chief He Zhengming put forward two core working principles: handle internal affairs independently and promote collective undertakings through joint efforts. He stressed that the board should identify existing constraints restricting journal development, formulate targeted improvement measures, and elevate the overall academic level and comprehensive influence of the journal under the leadership of the new editorial board.
  
  In the closing session, all participating experts and board members conducted in-depth discussions on strategies for high-quality journal development. They shared diverse viewpoints and offered practical suggestions to fuel the sustainable development of the journal.
