Notice on Holding Academic and Popular Science Reports of the 2015 Beijing Science and Technology Week
• # Call for Papers (1st Round): Academic & Popular Science Forum of 2015 Beijing Science and Technology Week
  Our society will co-host academic events for the 2015 Beijing Science and Technology Week together with the Beijing Society of Environmental Mutagens, and the conference will be undertaken by the National Institute for Radiological Protection, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Scheduled for May 21, 2015, the one-day conference takes the theme: Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Science Benefiting the Public — Environmental and Health Science Activities.
  
  ## Conference Arrangements
  a. Morning Plenary Lectures: 5–6 invited experts will deliver keynote speeches focusing on environment and health, introducing cutting-edge trends and advances in relevant disciplines.
  b. Afternoon Sessions: Youth Popular Science Speech Contest & Excellent Scientific Paper Selection.
  c. Poster Exhibition of Popular Science Works.
  
  ## Paper & Entry Solicitation Details
  ### 1. Keynote Lectures
  We invite submissions for plenary presentations focusing on cutting-edge technological advances in environmental and health disciplines.
  
  ### 2. Selection of Excellent Youth Scientific Papers
  Eligibility & requirements:
  1. The first author shall be a member of our society, born after May 1975;
  2. The full manuscript shall comply with submission standards, with the word "Award Evaluation" marked on the top right of the first page;
  3. Review papers and popular science articles are excluded;
  4. Submissions must be completed before the deadline;
  5. Award winners shall deliver on-site presentations.
  
  #### Acceptable research topics
  Detection and assessment of public health-related issues including environmental pollution, PM2.5, genetically modified products, nanotechnology, avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease, and animal testing alternatives; novel detection methods for carcinogenic, teratogenic and mutagenic effects of food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, pesticides and chemical substances; other experimental methods, test reports, research studies and risk assessments in clinical and basic research.
  
  Participants may submit research papers published after January 2014 or unpublished manuscripts (maximum 5,000 words). Manuscripts passing peer review will be recommended for expedited publication in *Carcinogenesis, Teratogenesis and Mutagenesis* or *Laboratory Animal Science*.
  
  ### 3. Youth Popular Science Speech Contest
  Top 3 contestants will be recommended to participate in the speech contest held by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology.
  Requirements:
  1. The first author shall be a member of our society, born after May 1975;
  2. Only popular science articles are accepted, with the word "Speech Contest" marked on the top right of the first page;
  3. Submissions must be completed before the deadline;
  4. The author must deliver the speech in person with clear expression and sound presentation skills;
  5. Reference themes: final speech topics of the 14th Youth Academic Speech Contest hosted by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology.
  
  ### 4. Popular Science Posters
  Council members willing to contribute promotional posters shall draft at least one poster matching their professional field and submit it to the Society Secretariat for delivery to the conference organizing committee.
  
  ### 5. Submission Instructions
  All manuscripts shall be sent as email attachments directly to the conference organizing committee. Receipt of a confirmation reply email serves as successful submission. If no confirmation is received within one week, please contact us by phone to verify receipt.
