Abstract: Objective To study growth and development as well as reproductive capacity of RCS rats. Methods 46 rats (70—80days old) were divided into two groups and were mated to analyze the body weight gain and other reproductive capacity.Results Average litters per cote were 7.9, and the weaning time, the death rate of litters in group 2 is 10% lower than that of litters in group 1. Conclusions The study supplied a basic data for researching on ophthalmology.

摘要： 目的　在一定的饲养条件下 ,观察RCS大鼠的生长繁殖能力。方法　选RCS大鼠 70— 80日龄 4 6只 (雌、雄各半 ) ,分为两组 ,进行交配繁殖 ,并统计其生产繁殖性能。结果　两组RCS大鼠平均窝产仔数为 7 9只 ,离乳时第 2组比第 1组仔鼠死亡率低 10 3%。结论　为该模型大鼠广泛应用于眼科研究提供了可信的基础资料
