Abstract: Objective To establish me model of nausea and vomiting in Guizhou miniature pig.Methods The animals were divided into three groups at random and given with Cisplatin(DDP) via i.p.once.The conditions of nausea and vomiting were observed within 8 hours after injection.Results During the experiment,the conditions of nausea and vomiting were not observed in the control animals.0nly 25% of the animals in the group given small dose of DDP((3 mg/kg)) had the behaviors and symptoms of nausea at 382 min after injection but without vomiting.Nausea and vomiting were observed in all the animals in the group given large amount of DDP(4 mg/kg),and the average time of nausea onset observed was 68.25 min,and the mean time of vomiting onset was 138 min.Conclusions Significant dose-dependent effect was observed in the Guizhou miniature pig with homogeneous response,which indicates that Guizhou miniature pig may serve as a new experimental animal for disease model establishment used in the studies of vomiting mechanism,anti-vomiting drug and acupuncture.
