Abstract: Abstract：0bjective To examine the effect of Fufangdanqin granules in the treatment of experimental vitreous hemorrhage in rabbits．Methods The rabbits with experimental vitreous hemorrhage were divided into two groups： ．the Fufangdanqin granules(8、4、2s／kg body weight)treated group and the entoiodin treated group．After eight— week administration，visibility of the rabbit fundus was examined．The detection rates of erythrocytes，blood clots and organic substances in the vitreous humor were measured respectively，and the macrophages in the pathologic sections were counted under a light microscope．Results The visibility of fundus increased significantly in the Fufangdanqin granules treated group compared with that of the entoiodin treated group．While the detection rates of erythrocytes，blood clot and organic substances in vitreous humor decreased in the Fufangdanqin granule group． The amount of macrophages also increased significantly in the Fuhngdanqin granule group．Conclusions It could be concluded that the Fufangdanqin granules could promote absorption of vitreous hemorrhage and had a beneficial therapeutic effect for vitreous hemorrhage．
